Employment Structure: 6-month Contract-to-Hire

Location: Frederick, MD, Adamstown, MD, or Hagerstown, MD

Pay Range: $20-26/hr

About the Role:

Brooksource is partnering with a leading cloud services provider to build out a team of Data Center Infrastructure Technicians supporting an active data center campu. This is an entry point into data center operations — you don’t need to walk in as a fully trained data center technician. The team is set up to train the right people on the job, so what matters most is your ability to work reliably as part of a team, communicate clearly, and pick up hands-on technical work quickly.

Day to day, you’ll support cable preparation and installation work and help vendor teams during rack installations. This role is well suited to people coming from cable installation, structured cabling, network/telecom installation, warehouse, material handling, or assembly-line backgrounds who are looking to build a long-term career in data center operations.

You’ll be based on a single mega-campus with four buildings. Employees park offsite and use the on-site shuttle service to move between buildings, so you won’t need to drive your personal vehicle around campus.

What You’ll Do:

•     Prepare cable for installation — labeling, bundling, and organizing materials into work packages, and verifying completed work against shared documentation.

•     Transport materials and run cabling in support of active installation teams and build activity.

•     Support vendor teams during rack installations by monitoring work in progress (physical rack moves are handled by dedicated white-glove vendor crews).

•     Work in a fast-paced, process-driven data center environment that has you on your feet and moving materials for most of your shift.

•     Communicate clearly with your team about progress, issues, and completed work.

What You Bring:

•     Hands-on background in cable installation, structured cabling, CAT5/CAT6 or electrical cabling, network/telecom installation, warehouse operations, material handling, or assembly-line work.

•     Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

•     Ability to lift and move equipment and materials as part of a team.

•     Comfort working in a team-oriented, process-driven environment where you’re on your feet for most of the shift.

•     Strong, professional communication skills — you’re able to speak clearly about your background, your experience, and why you’re interested in the role.

•     Preferred: prior data center experience.
