Department Head - Fresh Food Counter | Hardegsen, Germany | On-site

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Department Head to lead the fresh food counter operations for a prominent national grocery retailer known for its commitment to quality and community. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of freshness, presentation, and customer service that define our brand.

The Role

  • Lead and develop a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure exceptional product quality, freshness, and appealing presentation of all fresh food items.
  • Oversee all operational aspects, including inventory management, ordering, and adherence to hygiene standards.
  • Drive sales through engaging customer interactions, consultations, and promotional activities.
  • Implement national sales concepts and strategies effectively within your department.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including cost control, revenue tracking, and pricing.

What You'll Need

  • Completed vocational training, preferably in food retail, or relevant experience as a career changer.
  • First-hand experience in a leadership role within fresh food, bakery, or a similar department.
  • Strong knowledge of fresh food products and a keen eye for quality and freshness.
  • A proactive, results-oriented approach with excellent organizational and conscientious work habits.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, strong teamwork, and effective communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
