Job Title: Backend Engineer II
Location: Fully Remote
Duration:  12 months | Contract (Chance of conversion or extension)
 
 
Job Description:
Role Overview: Supports a personalization and recommendation platform that powers customer experiences across digital channels. The focus is building scalable backend services that deliver personalized content and product recommendations while supporting platform modernization and eCommerce growth.
 
Core Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable backend services
  • Build cloud-native solutions using Java, Python, Google Cloud Platform, and search technologies
  • Support personalized content and product recommendation capabilities
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, and operational performance
  • Support modernization of the personalization platform
  • Deliver business-critical customer experience capabilities.

Requirements
  • Strong enterprise Java development experience building backend applications and services
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and cloud-native application development

  • Experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or similar enterprise search technologies
  • Proven experience building scalable, highly available services for large-scale production environments
  • Experience supporting production systems, platform modernization, and operational excellence
 
Plusses:
  • Personalization or recommendation platform experience
  • Experience with AI/ML or modern search technologies
  • Experience partnering with Product and Data Science teams
