We are looking for a Technology Consultant to join us in our Hawthorn, Melbourne office. You will join the Intelligent Device Technology (ITD) team supporting the Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia (VIC/TAS/SA) territory, working alongside account managers, domain specialists and channel partners to win and grow our Intelligent Devices business. Reporting to the Regional Manager for Intelligent Device Technology (ANZ), you will be the go to technical consultant for customers and internal sales teams on device selection, application and lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities
  • Be the regional technical expert for the Intelligent Devices portfolio (drives, motion, safety, sensing, motor control and industrial components), translating customer requirements into differentiated, valued solutions.
  • Partner with account managers and channel partners to build and progress a qualified opportunity pipeline, quantifying demand and accelerating opportunities to close.
  • Lead product demonstrations, technical workshops and proof-of-concept activities for customers, OEMs and distributors to build preference for Rockwell Automation technology.
  • Identify and document territory coverage gaps and growth opportunities, feeding demand insight into forecasting, planning and business-case development.
  • Support customer and partner enablement across the selection, configuration, migration and lifecycle of intelligent devices, upskilling internal teams and channel partners.
The Essentials - You Will Have
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, mechanical or automation engineering, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial automation, with hands on knowledge of intelligent devices such as variable frequency drives, servo and motion, functional safety, sensing or motor control.
  • Experience translating technical capability into commercial value in a customer facing sales, pre sales or consulting role.
  • Current working rights in Australia and a valid driver's licence to operate a company vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel across the VIC/TAS/SA territory approximately 30-50% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have
  • 3+ years of experience with Rockwell Automation and Allen Bradley intelligent devices (PowerFlex drives, Kinetix motion, GuardLogix and safety, sensors), or comparable competitor platforms.
  • Application experience in main industries across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia such as mining, metals, water and wastewater, food and beverage, or life sciences.
  • Working knowledge of EtherNet/IP and integrated architecture, and how intelligent devices connect into control and information systems.
  • Experience operating within a distributor or channel partner sales model.
  • Relevant industry accreditation, such as functional safety (TÜV) or a drives or motion specialist certification.
