Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure applications meet business and technical requirements through comprehensive testing strategies, automation, and quality assurance best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical documentation to provide meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Validate functionality against documented requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with quality assurance team members, developers, stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and team meetings.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
  • Perform regression testing to validate defect resolutions and application stability.
  • Develop and improve testing processes and quality standards for new and existing applications.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and understand system requirements.
  • Monitor testing and debugging activities and communicate results effectively.
  • Investigate software issues, determine root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Track and report quality metrics, including defect trends and test coverage.
  • Stay current on emerging testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of Quality Assurance experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience testing, tracking, documenting, and reporting software quality metrics.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated testing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of software development, testing methodologies, and quality assurance principles.
  • Knowledge of programming concepts, data structures, algorithms, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience creating and improving procedures for issue identification, investigation, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD), clean code principles, and modern software development practices.
  • Experience working within Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex software quality issues.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies, processes, and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with both front-end and back-end application testing.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and API testing.
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Exposure to cloud-based environments and distributed applications.
  • Knowledge of programming languages commonly used in software development and testing.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
