INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK) with Security Clearance

Duties

• You will configure and optimize network routers, switches, firewalls, and caches.
• You will monitor network capacity and performance, recommend changes/upgrades, and analyze and define network requirements.
• You will adapt and implement systems diagnostic and maintenance tools to ensure the availability and functionality of network systems required to support organizational objectives.
• You will perform local level investigations and evaluations of especially difficult and unresolved problems involving complex network equipment or software.
• You will implement security techniques, procedures and guidance to ensure that user access control (physical, personnel, software, and information security) and other security requirements are in place.
• You will serve as a technical expert performing feasibility studies, which involve application of emerging network technology to resolve unique user network requirements. Requirements Conditions of employment

• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Network Operations Spec, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain/maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes when appropriate.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position requires the ability to lift/carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.

Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: configuring, optimizing, and monitoring network infrastructure (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls) while analyzing complex network requirements and leveraging Enterprise Management, Network Management, or Process Flow/Ticketing Management Systems to resolve network problems and recommend service enhancements in support of organizational objectives. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
