Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT Project Manager with specialized Epic EHR experience to lead and coordinate critical technology and clinical application initiatives. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end IT implementations, optimizations, and clinical workflow enhancements. You will act as the operational bridge aligning clinicians, Epic application analysts, technical teams, executive stakeholders, and third-party vendors to deliver clinical technology solutions on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

Project Governance & Delivery: Lead full lifecycle healthcare technology projects involving Epic modules, clinical workflows, infrastructure, and integrated third-party systems.

Planning & Execution: Build and manage detailed project schedules, milestones, budgets, scope baselines, risk registers, issues logs, and dependencies using PMO standards.

Cross-Functional Orchestration: Align and facilitate collaboration across clinical leaders, nursing/physician champions, business teams, technical infrastructure, integration teams, and external vendors.

Epic Team Alignment: Partner directly with certified Epic application analysts to evaluate workflow impacts, functional requirements, build changes, interfaces, and operational readiness.

Testing, Cutover & Go-Live: Drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT), cutover planning, downtime procedures, command center coordination, go-live execution, and post-production stabilization.

Risk & Issue Mitigation: Proactively identify workstream roadblocks, dependencies, and change requests, establishing clear mitigation paths and escalation frameworks.

Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate cross-workstream project meetings, cadence reviews, steering committee updates, and executive dashboard reporting.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of formal project management experience within healthcare IT, hospital systems, or health tech environments.

Hands-on experience driving initiatives directly embedded within Epic EHR environments.

Proven track record leading cross-functional projects bridging both technical infrastructure and clinical operational stakeholders.

In-depth understanding of standard PM frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) alongside risk, budget, and scope management.

Demonstrated capability navigating change management, operational readiness, and EHR governance workflows.

Strong executive presentation, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior direct experience managing Epic implementations, major version upgrades, module deployments, or clinical workflow optimizations.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI-ACP certification.

Epic certifications, proficiencies, or direct experience managing Epic analyst build teams.
