Senior AI Software Developer - 176490 with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Senior AI Software Developer to join our government customer located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The Senior AI Software Developer will design and implement software solutions independently while working closely with systems engineering, product delivery, and DevSecOps teams. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home. Responsibilities of the Senior AI Software Developer include:

• Lead Agile sprint planning ensuring alignment of team priorities, clear deliverables, and successful execution of project objectives
• Mentor and guide team members by providing technical leadership, sharing best practices, removing roadblocks, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment focused on continuous improvement
• Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications using modern software engineering best practices
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineers in an Agile/SAFe environment
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with systems engineering and program teams to translate requirements into working software solutions
• Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code following CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
• Contribute to system design discussions and technical decision-making
• Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, and external APIs
• Implement modern automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing Core Qualifications for the Senior AI Software Developer include:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience building and supporting microservices-based systems
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, or similar on a Linux-based system)
• Experience or exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems (Claude-Code), automation, or intelligent platforms.
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Understanding of APIs and distributed system concepts
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
• Successful completion of background investigations as required by the government customer Compensation for the Senior AI Software Developer include:
• $150,000-$180,000 **depending on experience**
