We are looking for an Aviation Security Advisor to join a specialist Aviation Security Training team.
This is a varied role combining stakeholder engagement, certification and compliance, training, data analysis and project work. You will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the effective delivery of aviation security training and certification requirements.
The role would suit someone with experience in aviation security, training, compliance, certification or a related operational environment who is comfortable working with both people and data.

We are looking for an Aviation Security Advisor to join a specialist Aviation Security Training team.
This is a varied role combining stakeholder engagement, certification and compliance, training, data analysis and project work. You will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the effective delivery of aviation security training and certification requirements.
The role would suit someone with experience in aviation security, training, compliance, certification or a related operational environment who is comfortable working with both people and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update records of certificated aviation security instructors, proactively monitoring the expiry of checks, certifications and associated requirements.
- Review and assess instructor certification applications, including background checks, security clearances, education and training records, and evidence of operational competence.
- Prepare assessment files and recommendations for approval.
- Provide guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders on training and certification matters.
- Provide first-line technical advice to aviation security instructors on regulatory requirements relating to training.
- Support the development and implementation of future training and certification requirements.
- Maintain stakeholder document libraries and relevant SharePoint and communication sites.
- Plan, coordinate and administer internal and external stakeholder meetings and events.
- Contribute to wider projects and activities across related aviation security functions, including testing and Security Management Systems (SeMS).
- Extract, cleanse and analyse training and security data to produce regular reports and presentations.
- Identify trends and insights within data to support management decision-making and business planning.
- Undertake additional project and team activities as required.
We are looking for an organised, analytical and collaborative individual with an understanding of the importance of aviation security and the ability to work confidently with a range of stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in aviation security, training, certification, compliance or a related environment.
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Experience working with and presenting data from multiple sources.
- Experience interrogating or modelling data using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with people at different levels.
- The ability to manage your own workload, work independently and use initiative.
- Good judgement and the ability to identify when advice or escalation is required.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to draw sound conclusions from incomplete or limited information.
- A good understanding of data protection principles.
- Experience providing secretariat support, including minute-taking, report writing, meeting coordination and logistics.
- Experience working with certification or e-service platforms.
- An understanding of training principles and/or experience delivering training.
- Knowledge of aviation security regulations and operational practices.
- Experience with aviation security testing, including digital x-ray competency testing.
- An understanding of Security Management Systems (SeMS).
- An understanding of Risk-Based Oversight (RBO).
