Position Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Java Full Stack Engineer with 12+ years of software development experience to join an enterprise application development team in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, React, Angular, REST APIs, SQL, and cloud technologies. This role requires someone who can work across both backend and frontend development, contribute to technical design, and collaborate closely with architects, product owners, QA engineers, and other development teams.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment and have experience building secure, scalable, and high-performance enterprise applications.

Required Technical Skills

Backend Development

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java and modern full-stack technologies.
• Develop backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance user interfaces using React and Angular.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and enterprise services.
• Design efficient database solutions and optimize SQL queries.
• Develop event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka where required.
• Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following established engineering standards.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.
• Develop unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
• Troubleshoot application issues across development, QA, and production environments.
• Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, QA engineers, architects, and other technical teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to application modernization, performance improvements, and technical debt reduction.
• Ensure applications meet security, scalability, reliability, and performance requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong enterprise-level experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven full-stack development experience with React and/or Angular.
• Strong understanding of Microservices and REST API architecture.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in financial services / banking environments.
• Experience with high-volume, highly available enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of application security and OAuth2/JWT.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based application deployments.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Experience with system design and performance optimization.
