SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Analyst III

Position Summary:   

The SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Analyst III is responsible for SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) configuration and support within an SAP S/4HANA environment. EAM and Plant Maintenance are a single SAP solution area; this position covers the technical-object and asset-accountability side of that area — asset structuring, asset master data, and the lifecycle processes that connect physical asset accountability to property, plant, and equipment accounting — while the Plant Maintenance positions cover maintenance planning and work management, in support of a large-scale, greenfield SAP S/4HANA financial management modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) organization. The analyst independently owns assigned asset management configuration scope, leads workshops for that scope, and resolves moderately complex issues spanning asset structure, asset accounting, and maintenance execution. This position operates at Level III of the C5MI job architecture and contributes to delivery across a five-gate milestone structure spanning pre-design approval, preliminary design review, critical design review, production readiness review, and closeout.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

• Configures and owns assigned enterprise asset management scope, including functional location hierarchies, structure indicators, equipment master configuration, and technical object classification. 

• Designs asset structuring approaches that support both maintenance execution and financial accountability reporting for assigned asset classes. 

• Configures the integration between technical objects and the fixed asset subledger, supporting asset acquisition, transfer, retirement, and disposal transactions. 

• Supports design of construction-in-progress accumulation and settlement from projects and investment measures into fixed assets. 

• Configures measuring points, counters, and the data capture approach supporting condition and usage-based asset processes. 

• Owns integration design between technical object structures, materials management, maintenance execution, project systems, and asset accounting for assigned scope. 

• Handles moderately complex configuration and design work with minimal oversight, exercising judgment within established program design practices. 

• Leads requirements gathering sessions and fit-to-standard workshops for assigned scope and documents the resulting functional designs and configuration rationale. 

• Owns assigned deliverables end to end, including design, configuration, documentation, test execution, and defect resolution across unit, integration, and user acceptance testing. 

• Mentors junior team members informally and reviews configuration and documentation produced within the assigned scope for quality and standards compliance. 

• Supports authority to operate, cybersecurity, audit, and compliance activities associated with the program, including production of control evidence for assigned configuration. 

• Supports cutover, go-live, and post-deployment hypercare activities for assigned scope, and contributes to transition of the delivered capability into the sustainment organization. 

• Travels to client sites up to 50% to support workshops, design sessions, testing events, cutover, and go-live activities, varying based on client program schedules.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; 3-5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5-7 years of relevant experience without a Bachelor’s degree, including demonstrated experience owning deliverables and solving moderately complex problems. 

• 3+ years of SAP Enterprise Asset Management functional experience, including hands-on configuration of technical object structures. 

• Demonstrated experience with functional location hierarchies, structure indicators, equipment master data, classification, and technical object bills of material. 

• Experience with the integration between technical objects and the fixed asset subledger, including asset acquisition, transfer, and retirement transactions. 

• Experience supporting asset-intensive organizations with complex asset hierarchies. 

• Ability to exercise judgment within defined practices and handle moderately complex issues with minimal oversight. 

• Demonstrated experience owning deliverables through design, configuration, testing, and documentation. 

• Experience supporting multi-system SAP landscapes. 

• Secret security clearance required: must hold an active Secret clearance or be able to obtain and maintain one prior to assignment (requires U.S. citizenship). 

 

Nice to Have: 

• Active Secret security clearance at time of hire. 

• Experience supporting federal ERP modernization programs, Department of War (DoW) SAP environments, or other defense business systems acquired under DoDI 5000.75. 

• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Asset Management, or a related SAP certification. 

• Experience with accountable property requirements under DoDI 5000.64 and item unique identification (IUID) under DoDI 8320.04 and MIL-STD-130. 

• Familiarity with federal property accounting standards, including SFFAS 6 and SFFAS 50. 

• Experience evaluating, modernizing, integrating, or replacing legacy computerized maintenance management or enterprise asset management platforms. 

• Experience with linear asset management or mobile asset management applications. 

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $90,000-100,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
