Senior Staff Engineer (Product Engineer-Legal Applications)

Requirements

• Experience : 7.5+ years
• Relevant experience in product engineering, application administration, application support, or enterprise application operations.
• Strong hands-on experience managing and supporting enterprise legal applications.
• Mandatory experience with at least 2–3 legal applications, such as iManage, App4Legal, Nasdaq Boardvantage, Englo be Access Admin, or Moody Orbis.
• Strong knowledge of legal application administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Experience managing application upgrades, patching, maintenance, and enhancements.
• Hands-on experience with Disaster Recovery (DR), failover execution, recovery procedures, and business continuity planning.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong experience supporting and executing on-premises to cloud migration initiatives.
• Experience with SQL database administration, database troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Good understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, firewalls, SSL/TLS, VPNs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python scripting for automation and operational support.
• Strong understanding of application security, access management, data protection, and compliance requirements.
• Experience monitoring application performance and resolving complex production issues.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create technical documentation, operational runbooks, and recovery procedures.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with infrastructure, security, database, application, and business teams.
• Experience with ITSM tools and incident, problem, and change management processes is desirable.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2 is desirable.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation is an advantage.
• Strong ownership and ability to manage critical applications in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage, administer, and support enterprise legal applications, ensuring system availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
• Provide production support, investigate incidents, manage escalations, and resolve application-related issues within agreed service levels.
• Execute Disaster Recovery (DR) failovers, recovery procedures, and business continuity activities to ensure operational resilience.
• Manage application upgrades, patching, maintenance, enhancements, and release activities.
• Lead and support on-premises to cloud migration initiatives across AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Plan and execute application migration activities, including environment assessment, dependency mapping, migration planning, testing, cutover, and post-migration validation.
• Ensure application security, regulatory compliance, access management, and adherence to enterprise IT policies.
• Monitor application health, system availability, logs, and performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
• Perform SQL database administration activities, including database monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues involving DNS, firewalls, SSL/TLS certificates, VPNs, and network configurations.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python to streamline administration and operational activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, support guides, recovery procedures, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, cloud engineers, database administrators, security teams, and external vendors.
• Support application testing, deployment, configuration management, and production readiness activities.
• Ensure legal applications meet availability, performance, security, and business continuity requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application stability, operational efficiency, and service quality.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
