Quick overview
Job description
CAMINUS (formerly EnPower, Inc.) is an Indianapolis-based lithium-ion cell manufacturer building end-to-end, domestic, NDAA-compliant battery capacity for defense, autonomy, and critical infrastructure markets. From our 90,000+ sqft facility, we operate two production-scale electrode coating lines paired with expanding automated cell assembly lines, making us one of the few U.S. companies with true powder-to-cell capability under one roof. Our technology platform, built on proprietary multilayer electrode architectures and Integrated Ceramic Separator (ICS) technology and protected by more than 40 granted and pending patents worldwide, enables cells that are simultaneously high-energy, high-power, fast-charging, and safe. We are passionate about what we do, and we are looking for high-current, high-voltage individuals to join our team.
The Cell Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling lithium-ion battery cells in a temperature- and humidity-controlled dry room environment. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, steady hand-eye coordination, and strict adherence to manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols. The technician plays a critical role in producing high-quality battery cells that meet engineering and customer specifications.

- Perform dimensional measurements and visual quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
- Maintain accurate production records, travelers, inspection documentation, and traceability information.
- Handle sensitive battery materials using proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) and contamination-control procedures.
- Work within a low-humidity dry room while following all appropriate PPE practices.
- Identify quality concerns and notify supervisors or engineering personnel of abnormalities.
- Meet established production, quality, and safety goals.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area utilizing 5S principles.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Two-year technical or Associate Degree preferred.
- At least 2-4 years of hands-on manufacturing or assembly experience. Experience performing detailed manual work using small components.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination with frequent use of hands and fingers to manipulate small components.
- Ability to distinguish small defects through visual inspection.
- Ability to follow written work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and production tracking.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Knowledge of health and safety laws pertaining to production operations. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which may include: respirator, face mask, gloves, protective eyewear, safety shoes, protective suits, shoe coverings, and head coverings. Will require work in dry room setting with low humidity level for extended period of time.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
