Job Description

Job Summary 

The Sulwhasoo Brand Marketing Specialist role supports business growth and strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis, market intelligence, and corporate strategy development. The position works closely with Sales, Demand Planning, Marketing, Brand teams, and HQ to monitor business performance, identify growth opportunities, and ensure alignment between regional and global objectives.

The role is responsible for analyzing sales performance, tracking key business metrics, managing market and competitive intelligence, and providing strategic insights that drive channel expansion, business planning, and operational excellence across North America. The ideal candidate will need to be fluent in both English and Korean. 

Principal Accountabilities

1. Business Strategy & Performance Analysis

  • Consolidate sales forecasts and business inputs with Demand Planning and Sales teams to ensure alignment with monthly net sales targets.
  • Manage SKU portfolios and coordinate updates across departments to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) on a weekly basis.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly sales performance analysis, including sell-in and sell-through performance.
  • Generate actionable business insights through regular data analysis and reporting.
  • Monitor monthly P&L performance and identify business risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to support channel expansion and retailer growth strategies

2. Market Intelligence

  • Conduct ongoing and ad hoc market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the U.S. beauty market.
  • Manage and analyze third-party market intelligence resources, including Circana and Profitero.
  • Provide consumer, category, and competitive insights to support brand growth and business decision-making.
  • Partner with Brand and Marketing teams to develop data-driven strategies and recommendations.

3. Global Corporate Strategy Development

  • Support new business development initiatives across North America, including new markets and channel expansion opportunities.
  • Review, summarize, and communicate key HQ strategic documents and business updates.
  • Facilitate alignment between global HQ strategies and local market execution.
  • Support short- and long-term business planning through analytical modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Provide strategic and analytical support for executive reviews, business updates, and HQ meetings.

Key Experience & Skills 

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in business strategy, business analysis, data analytics, or related functions.
  • Beauty, consumer goods, retail, or e-commerce industry experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional business planning and performance management activities.

 

Skill Sets

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence/data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP).
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of sales, retail, and financial performance metrics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Korean.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
