Kforce has a client that is seeking a Node. JS Engineer in Irving, TX.

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and maintain automated integration testing capabilities across a modern distributed application environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working deep within application architecture, understanding system interactions, and creating robust automated validation frameworks that improve software quality and release confidence.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated integration test suites for backend services and distributed applications
• Analyze existing application codebases to identify appropriate integration testing strategies
• Build automated tests that validate end-to-end business workflows and service interactions
• Develop reusable testing frameworks, utilities, and supporting tooling
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, and product teams to improve testability and system reliability
• Troubleshoot failures across APIs, messaging platforms, databases, and service integrations
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Support CI/CD integration and automated quality validation pipelines
• Document testing approaches, frameworks, and integration patterns
• Help establish scalable engineering standards for integration testing across multiple services

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience developing applications with Node.js
• Experience writing automated integration and end-to-end tests
• Experience working with distributed systems and service-oriented architectures
• Experience using Git-based source control and modern CI/CD pipelines
• Deep understanding of API-based architectures and microservices
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MongoDB
• Experience with RabbitMQ or other messaging/event-driven platforms
• Experience testing asynchronous workflows and distributed systems
• Experience building internal developer tools or test frameworks
• Familiarity with containerized environments and cloud-native architectures
• Exposure to observability tooling, logging platforms, and application monitoring solutions

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
