Quality Officer - Raw Materials & Systems

Department: Quality & Safety - ANZ

Location: Huntingwood, NSW, AU, 2148

Job Function: Supply Chain - ANZ

The Arnott's Group is a leading food manufacturer with a longstanding legacy of quality products such as Tim Tams and Shapes.

As the Quality Officer - Raw Materials, you will support the QA function to ensure all products are manufactured in strict compliance with Arnott's food safety and quality system requirements. Your role includes continuous improvement of systems, documentation management, and action follow up.

The Accountabilities
  • Interact directly with suppliers and internal customers to obtain required documentation for material release.
  • Independently review and approve GMP documentation (COAs, internal and external records) required for raw material release.
  • Execute SAP transactions related to material release and other quality functions within SAP.
  • Support material specification reviews and approvals.
  • Manage raw material, packaging and supplier non conformances.
  • Assist with the Huntingwood Food Safety and Quality program, ensuring compliance to SQF, TAG, and HACCP.
  • Participate in the internal QA audit program, including mock recalls and trace audits, coordinating resources and ensuring corrective actions.
  • Support annual HACCP reviews, monitoring the suitability and effectiveness of CPs, PRPs, etc.
  • Contribute to the site FSR program, identifying and executing improvements and maintaining high engagement.
  • Assist in training and site communications to promote awareness of the Food Safety and Quality System.
  • Participate in the GMP audit program to ensure standards are achieved.
  • Support initiatives for cleaning validations, including CIP and EMP programs, monitoring and reporting.
  • Maintain calibration and replacement of food safety equipment (magnets, sieves, metal detectors, X ray).
  • Deliver assigned projects within stipulated timeframes, aligning with quality objectives and regulatory requirements.
The Ingredients for Success
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2 3 years of quality assurance experience in food, pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing industry.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems, HACCP programs and quality auditing.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross functional teams and suppliers.
  • Analytical and proactive problem solving abilities.
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with database knowledge (Access) and ERP systems such as SAP is desirable.
