Director/Manager Financial Reporting

Description
We are looking for an accomplished financial reporting leader to join our team in Dallas, Texas and help shape a growing organization during an important stage of expansion. This position offers close interaction with senior leadership and the opportunity to influence reporting, accounting, and financial analysis in a hands-on capacity. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys building structure, solving complex accounting matters, and contributing across multiple finance priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring disclosures are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
• Manage external reporting obligations, including SEC-related filings, and research accounting guidance to address technical matters.
• Contribute to month-end and period-end accounting activities while supporting the broader close and reporting process.
• Provide financial analysis and special project support to help leadership evaluate business performance and key decisions.
• Assist with financing activities and other strategic initiatives by developing reporting materials and responding to information requests.
• Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and collaborate with third-party advisors throughout audit and reporting cycles.
• Strengthen reporting workflows, internal controls, and accounting procedures to support operational scale and consistency.
• Partner with executive leadership on cross-functional finance and accounting initiatives that require strong judgment and attention to detail.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Approximately 5 or more years of experience in accounting and financial reporting roles.
• Background in public accounting at the Senior or Manager level is strongly preferred.
• Experience with SEC reporting and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of technical accounting guidance and external reporting standards.
• Prior exposure to oil and gas clients or direct experience within the exploration and production sector is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.
• CPA or similar certification is preferred.
