Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
The ideal candidate has strong project management experience in electrical construction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple electrical construction projects at various phases simultaneously.
- Meet with clients to understand project scope, functional requirements, and project objectives.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and cost forecasts.
- Coordinate engineering elements and integrate them into complete project designs.
- Perform project budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting.
- Prepare trade scopes of work and subcontract agreements.
- Manage procurement of electrical materials and equipment.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress, schedules, quality, and safety compliance.
- Administer change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular status updates.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, insurance, bonding, and regulatory standards.
- Manage project closeout activities including documentation and final deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Experience managing commercial or industrial electrical construction projects.
- Strong understanding of:
- Project budgeting and cost control
- Progress billing
- Risk management
- Quality assurance
- Scheduling and project controls
- Change orders and document management
- Procurement and subcontractor management
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local building codes.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Experience using construction project management software.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, manufacturing, semiconductor, or industrial construction projects.
- Experience managing electrical subcontractors on complex construction projects.
