Senior Quality Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a well-established manufacturing business in Sheffield to recruit a Senior Quality Engineer to join its Quality Assurance team.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the site's Quality Management System, ensuring product and process standards are consistently achieved. You will work closely with production teams, operators and senior management, helping to strengthen quality awareness, improve compliance and drive a proactive approach to quality across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development, management and continual improvement of the site's Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards and requirements.
• Develop, implement and maintain internal quality procedures, standards and specifications.
• Plan, coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring findings are effectively addressed and closed out within agreed timescales.
• Prepare and maintain product and process audit schedules, ensuring audits are completed and corrective actions implemented.
• Investigate customer complaints, returns and internal non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Apply structured problem-solving techniques, including 8D methodology, to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Work closely with production and operational teams to improve process performance and product quality.
• Supervise and support Quality Technicians and Team Leaders, encouraging accountability and continuous improvement.
• Analyse quality performance data, identify trends and implement improvement initiatives.
• Build strong working relationships across all levels of the business, promoting quality awareness throughout the site.

What We're Looking For:

• An Engineering degree or a relevant technical qualification.
• At least five years' industry experience, including a minimum of three years in a Quality-focused role.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ideally experience in a highly regulated market
• Proven experience in internal auditing, quality assurance and compliance.
• Good understanding of 8D problem-solving methodology and root cause analysis.
• Experience managing non-conformances, corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
• Previous experience supporting or supervising a quality team would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with both shop-floor operators and senior management.
• A proactive and analytical approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
