Lead Kafka Developer

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Kafka Developer to design, develop, implement, and operate scalable, high-throughput event-streaming platforms using Apache Kafka.
This position requires a strong combination of hands-on Kafka development, distributed systems expertise, event-driven architecture, production support, and technical leadership.
The Lead Kafka Developer will establish engineering best practices, lead Kafka application development, design streaming architectures and data pipelines, and provide technical guidance to development teams while ensuring Kafka solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and performant.
 
Ideal Candidate Profile
The strongest candidate will be a Lead Kafka Developer / Kafka Technical Lead with deep hands-on experience developing Kafka applications using Java or Scala, rather than a Kafka Administrator.
They should have experience leading the design and implementation of Kafka streaming solutions, Producers/Consumers, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, event-driven architectures, topic/schema design, distributed systems, production Kafka environments, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Candidates must have strong experience:
•    Designing and developing Kafka-based streaming applications
•    Building and implementing event-driven architectures
•    Developing with Kafka Producers, Consumers, Streams, and Connectors
•    Designing and managing Kafka topics and schemas
•    Building scalable, reliable, high-throughput streaming solutions
•    Providing technical leadership and development guidance
•    Working hands-on with Java and/or Scala
•    Kafka administration/support experience alone is not sufficient.
