Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

About the Role

A well-established Bay Area law firm is seeking an experienced trust and estate litigator to help lead and grow its Trust & Estate Litigation Group. You will drive complex matters, develop client relationships, and mentor attorneys as part of the practice's next generation of leadership.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation from inception through resolution.

• Develop case strategy for matters including will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and elder abuse litigation.

• Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, seniors, and their families.

• Build and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary contact.

• Supervise, delegate work to, and mentor associate attorneys on active matters.

• Support business development and help shape the direction and culture of the practice group.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience in California, with active litigation work in this area.

• Active membership in the State Bar of California in good standing and a JD from an accredited law school.

• Strong experience with probate court proceedings, will and trust contests, fiduciary disputes, and related litigation.

• Demonstrated ability to lead case strategy, supervise or mentor attorneys, and help build a practice.

• Established relationships or a professional network in the Bay Area trust and estate litigation community are valued.

• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid role based primarily in San Mateo, California. Pleasanton and San Jose are also available office locations.
