Team Leader - Desktop Home Assessors

MAYDAY is proud to be partnering with a leading national insurance organisation experiencing strong growth across its property claims division. We're looking for a Team Leader to manage a team ofDesktop Home Assessors,responsible for assessing and managing home insurance claims end-to-end using virtual tools.

This is a great opportunity for someone with anInsurancebuilding, estimating or restorationbackground who wants to step into a corporate leadership environment while still using their technical knowledge in a meaningful way.

About the Role

In this role, you'll manage a team and a portfolio of home insurance claims from lodgement through to settlement, using desktop assessment tools and expert reports to determine scope, cost and repair outcomes.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Providing day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to a team of claims professionals
  • Monitoring team performance, workloads, SLAs and claims outcomes to ensure service standards are consistently met
  • Coaching and mentoring team members, providing feedback and supporting their technical and professional development
  • Escalating complex or high-risk claims and providing technical guidance on appropriate claims outcomes
  • Conducting desktop assessments of property damage using virtual tools and supplier reports
  • Determining cause of damage, policy coverage and appropriate repair methods
  • Working closely with builders, suppliers, repairers and internal claims teams
About You

You'll bring a practical, hands on understanding of building or construction and be comfortable working in a fast paced claims environment.

You'll have:

  • Strong Team leadership experienceandqualities
  • Experience in Insurance building, estimating, restoration, construction, or insurance assessing (trade background highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of residential building practices and repair methods
  • Ability to interpret scopes, quotes and technical reports
  • Strong attention to detail and sound decision making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
  • A customer first mindset with resilience and empathy
