Job Description

JD:-

THE PRODUCT
We are building a 5G/LTE CPE gateway (home/enterprise router) running Embedded Linux + RDK-B. We need a consultant to own two critical workstreams on the device.
CORE DELIVERABLES
  • Workstream:
    • Daemon to display realtime modem signal (RSSI/RSRP/RSRQ) and system health on the frontpanel screen.
  • LED/LCD UI + Stabilization Logging:
    • Crashpersistent logger forceflush critical logs to flash before reboot on system panic; display error codes on screen for field debugging.
  • Remote Log Collection & Modem Diagnostics:
    • Secure remote access tunnel (SSH reverse / WebSocket / TR069) for NOC engineers to pull system logs (syslog, dmesg, journald) and modem diagnostics.
    • Log rotation/compression to prevent flash wear.
    • REST/CLI interface for ondemand log retrieval.
  • Modem Integration:
    • Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) to communicate with 5G/LTE modems via AT commands over UART/USB.
    • Support multivendor modems (Quectel, Sierra, Fibocom) through a unified interface.
MANDATORY SKILLS
  1. Languages: Expert C/C++ (system daemons, sockets, multithreading, IPC)
  2. Embedded Linux: systemd, syslog/journald, crosscompilation (Yocto/Buildroot), flash filesystems, gdb/strace debugging
  3. RDK-B: Nonnegotiable handson with CCSP components, WebPA (TR069), and RDKB boot/logging flow
  4. Cellular (3GPP): AT commands (AT+CSQ, AT+CREG, AT+CEREG, AT+QENG); understanding of LTE/5G NR registration and signal metrics
  5. Networking: TCP/IP, NAT, VPNs, SSH/HTTPS, remote access protocols
NICETOHAVE
  • TR069 / CWMP or MQTT experience
  • Yocto / BitBake recipes
  • LVGL / Qt Embedded for UI
  • FOTA (firmware overtheair) updates
