R&D Engineer - Embedded Electronics & Firmware

East Sussex

We're looking for an experienced R&D Engineer to join a growing engineering team, helping to develop and enhance a range of embedded electronic products from concept through to production. This is an opportunity to work on innovative technology, contributing across the full product lifecycle within a collaborative R&D environment.

The Role

You'll play a key role in the development of embedded electronic products, working closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver robust, reliable solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing analogue and digital electronic circuits for embedded systems
• Developing embedded firmware in C for microcontroller-based products
• Supporting products throughout their lifecycle, including component selection and obsolescence management
• Modifying mechanical designs where required using CAD
• Developing bespoke product variants to meet customer requirements
• Supporting testing, validation, and continuous product improvement

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

• Experience in embedded electronics product development
• Strong embedded firmware development experience (Embedded C)
• Analogue and digital electronics design experience
• PCB design and schematic capture experience
• Some exposure to mechanical design/CAD

Experience within safety-critical, industrial, communications, or embedded product development would be highly beneficial.
