RF Test Engineer
We are seeking an RF Test Engineer to support RF validation, design verification, and system-level testing of wireless devices. This hands-on role focuses on OTA and conducted RF testing, test setup and automation, data analysis, lab operations, and hardware rework within an RF development environment.
Scope:
• Perform RF system testing for design verification and system validation, including conducted and radiated testing for RF performance, interference, noise floor (RSSI), coexistence, throughput, and related wireless performance metrics.
• Execute OTA testing, including TRP, TIS, and aGPS measurements in both signaling and non-signaling modes using RF test chambers and call box equipment.
• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot RF test equipment, including anechoic chambers, call boxes, and internally developed test tools.
• Collect, analyze, and document test data using spreadsheets, databases, and Python scripts to generate reports and communicate results.
• Set up and maintain RF test environments, calibration schedules, laboratory equipment, and hardware development workspaces.
• Perform hardware rework, prototype modifications, and mock-up assembly to support RF validation and testing activities.
• Support debugging and root cause analysis of RF performance issues in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Required:
• Associate''s or Bachelor''s degree in Electronic Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience with electrical troubleshooting, electrical assembly, and mechanical assembly.
• Experience operating OTA chambers from R&S, BlueTest, or GTS.
• Experience using RF call boxes from R&S, Keysight, or Anritsu.
• Experience working with RF passive and active components, including splitters, filters, amplifiers, and related hardware.
• Strong soldering and fine-pitch rework skills (0201 components).
• Proficiency with Windows or ChromeOS environments.
• Experience using Google Docs, Google Sheets, or equivalent documentation and spreadsheet tools.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
Pluses:
• Experience performing RF desense testing, including noise profile, interference, and coexistence measurements.
• Experience developing RF hardware test setups for conducted measurements.
• Experience building prototype hardware, mockups, or custom test fixtures.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages for test automation and data analysis.
• Strong electrical debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced hardware rework experience.
