Job Description
At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock and inspire performance for life. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.
WHOOP is hiring a Staff Product Designer to define the next generation of connected member experiences. In this highly collaborative, 0-to-1 role, you’ll establish the UX foundations for emerging products and create intuitive, cohesive experiences that help members better understand and act on their health.
You’ll work at the intersection of product experience, software, and systems thinking, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Design Systems, and Research. You’ll define interaction principles and scalable patterns, navigate complex product and technical constraints, and shape how members experience WHOOP across an evolving ecosystem.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the end-to-end design of new connected member experiences, from early discovery and concept development through production-ready designs.
Define interaction principles, navigation models, information architecture, and scalable UX patterns that create intuitive and consistent experiences across the WHOOP ecosystem.
Design cohesive member journeys across multiple touchpoints, translating complex product capabilities and information into clear, intuitive interactions that prioritize utility and ease of use.
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Design Systems, and Platform teams to navigate constraints, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and bring high-quality experiences to market.
Prototype and test interaction models, workflows, and product concepts to validate assumptions, accelerate decision-making, and continuously refine the member experience.
Help shape the long-term UX vision for emerging WHOOP products, championing simplicity and contributing to the continued evolution of WHOOP design principles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
7+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of high-quality consumer product experiences.
Exceptional UX and interaction design skills, with demonstrated ability to simplify complex problems and workflows into intuitive, member-centered experiences.
Strong systems thinking, including experience developing information architecture, navigation models, reusable interaction patterns, or design frameworks.
Experience designing highly crafted mobile experiences and working across multiple touchpoints, platforms, form factors, or interaction paradigms.
High proficiency in Figma and prototyping, with the ability to use prototypes to explore ideas, communicate interaction models, and accelerate product decisions.
Strong communication and storytelling skills, with demonstrated success partnering with Product, Engineering, Research, and other cross-functional teams to influence product direction and bring complex experiences to market.
Passion for health, fitness, and building products that empower people to better understand and improve their daily lives.
Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
