Release Train Engineer (RTE) – Healthcare

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Release Train Engineer (RTE) to facilitate and guide an Agile Product Delivery Agile Release Train (ART) within our healthcare technology division. The ideal candidate will act as a servant leader and coach for the ART, helping to optimize the flow of value through the program using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) principles. This role requires a strong technical foundation in software engineering—specifically with .NET or Java ecosystems and SQL databases—combined with deep healthcare domain knowledge to effectively navigate complex compliance, data privacy, and clinical workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information radiators.
Facilitate ART processes and execution, including PI (Program Increment) Planning readiness, PI Planning events, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt workshops.
Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
Track and report on ART metrics, including velocity, predictability, and quality, to leadership and stakeholders.
Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature estimation and sequencing via WSJF (Weighted Shortest Job First).
Drive relentless improvement by fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration across engineering, product management, and operations.
Collaborate closely with Product Management, Enterprise Architects, and Technical Leads to ensure alignment between business strategy and execution.
Mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and resolve critical bottlenecks across distributed technical teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working as a Release Train Engineer or Agile Program Manager in a scaled agile environment.
Proven background in software development, with practical experience or strong architectural familiarity in either .NET or Java frameworks.
Strong proficiency in SQL for data analysis, reporting, and understanding database schemas and relational data structures.
Extensive experience in the healthcare domain, including familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, or electronic health record (EHR) integrations.
Valid Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification, such as SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM).
Exceptional communication, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills.
