Job Description
The Technical Solutions Specialist is responsible for delivering expert technical support, troubleshooting, and customer solutions across Brooks LAS systems. This includes installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair, along with onsite, remote, and third party support. The role requires flexibility to support after hours issues and travel domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities- Installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance (PM) of systems at customer sites; conduct diagnostics, fault finding, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and automation components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Provide third tier technical support to global distributors and third party service providers; guide and mentor external partners on troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.
- Deliver advanced technical support including remote diagnostics and issue resolution; analyze root causes, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Participate in after hours on call rotations; respond to critical system issues to minimise downtime and business impact.
- Travel domestically and internationally (approximately 60%) to support installations, commissioning, maintenance, and service activities; represent Brooks professionally across diverse customer environments.
- Document service activities, issues, and resolutions; provide feedback to Engineering and Product teams; contribute to development of service documentation, training materials, and best practices.
- Deliver technical training to global distributors, third party service providers, and end users; develop and maintain training materials, manuals, and knowledge resources; support knowledge transfer during installations, commissioning, and system handover.
- Trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Automation, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience working with complex electro mechanical devices and systems; demonstrated capability in installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair of technical equipment.
- Experience supporting customers, distributors, and/or third party service providers in a technical environment with a customer focused mindset.
- Experience delivering technical training to service teams, partners, or end users (desired).
- Exposure to software systems, control systems, or diagnostic tools used in automation or equipment environments (advantageous).
- Strong working knowledge of safety standards and compliance within industrial or customer site environments.
- Strong communication skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills, especially in high pressure situations.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Adaptability and resilience, including after hours and customer facing demands.
- Current full driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
