TS/SCI Firmware Engineer with Security Clearance

Required Skills & Experience Must-Haves
Active TS/SCI security clearance
Experience developing embedded firmware using C/C++ or similar low-level programming languages
Experience with microcontrollers, embedded processors, SoCs, and associated peripherals
Hands-on experience with hardware communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, PWM, ADC/DAC
Experience supporting firmware for sensors, motors, actuators, optics, gimbals, or other electromechanical systems
Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems, interrupts, timers, memory management, and hardware interfaces
Experience debugging firmware and hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, or similar lab equipment
Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and interface control documentation
Experience analyzing and modifying existing embedded firmware systems Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Firmware Engineer to support a defense client in Aberdeen, MD.

This individual will be responsible for developing, modifying, and debugging embedded firmware for mission-critical systems, working across hardware and software teams to integrate sensors, actuators, imaging systems, and other electromechanical components. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with low-level embedded development, hardware interfaces, and real-time systems, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex firmware and hardware interactions.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who can quickly understand existing firmware architectures, implement new functionality, and support the development of advanced embedded platforms. An active TS/SCI clearance is required. $60/hr to $80/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
