  • Serves as a Systems Administrator for the Systems Management Branch in the Regional Cyber Center- Pacific.
  • Coordinates, integrates, and manages virtualized servers and their physical components.
  • Attends SCI VTCs, meetings and working groups, which require access to Top Secret Sensitive, Compartmented Information (SCI) materials, equipment, programs, facilities, and systems
  • Participates in the requirements analyzing and refining process with requirements project personnel, and translation of systems requirements into applications specifications.
  • Designs, develops, modifies, and interfaces applications software. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET eligibility with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
  • Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter according to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • Ability to meet position requirements for certification in Information Assurance Technical (IAT-III) within six months or less of entrance of duty. (Certification requirements maybe found in DoD 8571.01-M.
  • Temporary Duty Travel will be required approximately 10% of the time and may require worldwide travel.
  • Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends; subject to recall to duty.
  • Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Applicable experience would be demonstrated by performing system configuration and administration across various server platforms, such as Windows, UNIX and virtualized environments; integrating new technologies to enhance operational efficiency; identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions; and contributing to the development of policies and strategic objectives for information technology initiatives. My experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.
