Cabling Installation Engineer

Finchampstead, Berkshire, RG40

• Full-time, permanent
• Competitive salary dependent on experience
• Performance bonus and yearly bonus
• Working away from home is required but is kept to a minimum where possible. This is not a standard 9-to-5 role, and applicants must be able to commute easily to the offices in Wokingham.

About the role

As a Data Cabling Engineer, you will play a crucial role within our client's team, working on a variety of projects primarily across the South UK region, you will help deliver high-quality cabling installations based on site drawings and customer instructions.

Please note: This is a cabling installation role, not an IT role.

Key responsibilities

• Install and terminate CAT6 and CAT6A cabling.
• Install single-mode, multi-mode and blown fibre systems.
• Fit containment, including trunking, basket, conduit and tray work.
• Test copper and fibre optic cabling.
• Interpret site drawings and follow customer instructions accurately.
• Work collaboratively to complete challenging projects to a high standard.
• Complete security clearance processes for specific contracts when required.

The ideal candidate

Our client is looking for someone based in the South UK region who has:

• Proven data cable installation experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of copper and fibre optic systems.
• Experience installing containment and testing completed cabling.
• The flexibility to travel and stay away from home when necessary.
• A professional, quality-focused approach to their work.
