Job Description
Drives operational efficiencies and strategic vision across various areas of Transportation. Draws upon a broad knowledge of industry trends, transportation programs, and carrier relationships to provide expert guidance to department manager and decision makers. Advises key stakeholders including leadership on developing, communicating and enhancing program strategy with a focus on the future state of the department. Develop recommendations on program administration, metrics, training, policies and procedures. Leads and influences various initiatives to ensure the continuous focus on achievement of department goals.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain supporting supplier governance and performance management initiatives. Knowledge of the transportation industry/market and DOT/FMCSA regulations. Experience monitoring supplier performance, leading business reviews, and overseeing improvement plans. Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to have difficult conversations and influence external and internal stakeholders.

Pay: (FEC_E25) Pittsburgh, PA Pay Range: $5,960.29/month - $9,834.48/month
Additional Details: This is a hybrid position located in Pittsburgh, PA. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location four days per week.

Essential Functions
- Advises and provides responses to complex, high-level questions regarding the Transportation Organization; provides input to company strategy, as well as, policy and procedure development relative to new and/or changing programs.
- Establishes and maintains cross-functional internal and external relationships in support of Transportation initiatives.
- Analyzes key data elements, interprets purchased transportation trends, and makes recommendations that help drive and support decisions.
- Drives proactive measures to improve cost savings leveraging continuous knowledge of the FedEx FedEx Network and transportation marketplace.
- Evaluates and develops methods for process improvements for consistency and efficiency in purchased transportation.
- Mentors and advises other employees on various transportation functions.
- Remains current on industry trends and incorporates that knowledge into requirements and recommendations.
- Develops and coordinates presentations and communications, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field required; in addition to Minimum Experience , high school degree or GED and four (4) years' experience in logistics or related area is accepted in lieu of degree.
Minimum Experience
- Six (6) years experience required in logistics, transportation industry, or related area.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and industry trends related to purchased transportation
- Microsoft Office, including high degree of proficiency with Excel. Macro creation is preferred.
- Proven experience with SQL and database technology, data visualization, and SAS
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to internal and external factors influencing decision making and using that information to inform insights and reporting
- Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and follow-through in resolving issues and/or questions
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information
- Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals
- Time management and organizational skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals
- Knowledge of transportation management system preferred.
