Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Architect to join a growing engineering and technical consulting organization. This is a full-time opportunity for a senior-level technology professional who will serve as a technical subject matter expert across enterprise infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, networking, systems integration, and architecture. You'll work with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, VMware, Fortinet, Veeam/Rubrik, and a broad range of enterprise IT technologies.
This is a great opportunity for an architect who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on. You'll have the chance to influence enterprise technology decisions, help shape long-term architecture, and still stay close to the infrastructure and systems that keep the business running. You'll partner with technical teams, business leaders, vendors, and stakeholders to design secure and scalable solutions while mentoring other IT professionals and helping drive the organization's technology roadmap forward.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
8+ years of experience in IT architecture, systems integration, infrastructure, or a related field
Strong enterprise architecture experience with frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Gartner EA
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
Advanced understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy
Experience supporting VMware environments
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and cybersecurity
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, wireless, network segmentation, and content filtering
Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam and/or Rubrik
Experience with Fortinet firewalls
Understanding of security frameworks and controls such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, or equivalent
Experience translating business requirements into secure, scalable technology solutions
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with Agile, DevOps, ITIL, or modern IT delivery methodologies
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Desired Skills & Experience
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
TOGAF certification
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar cloud certification
CISSP certification
ITIL Foundation certification
Security+, Network+, MCSE, CCNA R/S, or CCNA Security certifications
Experience leading enterprise architecture initiatives
Experience developing IT standards, governance processes, and architectural guidelines
Experience with data management and enterprise application integration
Experience presenting technical recommendations to senior leadership
Experience mentoring architects, engineers, developers, and other IT professionals
Experience working in regulated or security-conscious environments
What You Will Be Doing
Develop and maintain enterprise technology architecture strategies, standards, and guidelines
Analyze business requirements and design scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions
Provide hands-on administration and technical oversight across enterprise infrastructure
Support servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware, security systems, and cloud services
Design and integrate applications, infrastructure, data, and enterprise systems
Manage and support networking technologies including firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, wireless, and network segmentation
Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations based on business value and long-term strategy
Ensure architectural designs align with security policies, data governance, and regulatory requirements
Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with system implementations and integrations
Document architecture decisions, system designs, integrations, and technical standards
Lead architectural reviews and communicate recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
Collaborate with IT, business units, vendors, and external partners
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to other IT professionals
Participate in infrastructure, security, and technology improvement initiatives
Provide support outside of normal business hours and travel when necessary
