Cable Technician with Security Clearance

Job #: 3037721 Apex Systems is currently hiring a Cable Installer with Government Client located in MacDill AFB, Florida. Installing, terminating, patching & splicing Fiber optic cables and Copper (CAT5/6) Ethernet cables. Must be able to work in an active working environment with little or no disruption to customers. Cable Technician will be working in a Classified secured environment with the need to be able to obtain up to Top Secret/SCI clearance. Project Details / Mission Supported: • Troubleshooting issues with Link Runner AT2000 cable testers.

• Installing cabling infrastructure under floors or in ceilings.
• Ensure cables are properly labeled and identified.
• Complete work orders using Remedy online system. • Patch network cables in Telecommunications Rooms on multiple levels of classifications and networks. Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:
• Proven work experience as a Cable Technician or similar role
• Must know how to terminate fiber optic cables of various types (Single-mode vs. Multi-mode OM3) and know fiber optic color code. Knowledge of fiber optic connectors LC, SC, MTRJ, ST, etc. • Must be able to use a RJ45 crimper & punch-down tool for terminating copper as well as T568B color code.
• Must be able to work under floors and on ladders on a daily basis.
• Must be willing to travel CONUS & OCCONUS up to 10% each year.
