Application Developer II

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Developer II to join the Analytics COE team. This role will work closely with business areas, clients, business analysts, and technical teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support high-quality application solutions.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and facilitator with solid front-end development, Python/Django, SQL, and application design experience.

This is a hybrid position requiring at least 1 day per week onsite in Detroit, MI. Candidates must be able to attend an in-person interview.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions.
• Design, code, test, implement, and support application software throughout the full systems development life cycle.
• Develop and maintain applications using front-end technologies and Python-based web frameworks.
• Participate in application, component, and data architecture design.
• Support technology planning, product evaluation, advanced testing, and integration activities.
• Provide technical input to project plans related to application development.
• Ensure solutions align with business and IT strategies and architectural standards.
• Support multiple applications and projects in complex technical environments.
• Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with front-end technologies such as Angular, HTML, and CSS.
• 4+ years of experience with Python-based web frameworks such as Django.
• 3+ years of programming experience.
• Intermediate SQL skills.
• Strong knowledge of advanced programming techniques and application design.
• Experience with systems design, database development, testing, and integration methodologies.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Bachelor''s degree in a related field preferred
