Job title: Data Modeler / Data Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite/Hybrid as per client requirement)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler / Data Engineer to support Capital One''s Card Decisioning Platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, governing, and evolving enterprise data models that power large-scale marketing and decisioning systems. The role involves working across the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers), ensuring data quality, governance, metadata management, and scalable data integration.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain logical and physical data models using Dimensional Modeling, 3NF, and enterprise data modeling methodologies.

Develop and maintain Enterprise Data Dictionaries, metadata, naming conventions, and business definitions.

Perform data profiling, validation, schema verification, and reconciliation using Databricks (PySpark & Spark SQL) and Snowflake.

Create and maintain Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and manage Delta Lake schema evolution.

Enforce enterprise data governance standards, metadata management, and naming conventions.

Validate AWS Glue ETL jobs, transformation logic, merge keys, and source-to-target mappings.

Extract and register Delta Lake schemas and maintain metadata within enterprise data catalogs.

Analyze and integrate new business attributes from OneLake, Snowflake, AWS S3, and streaming platforms.

Develop YAML-based ETL configuration files for metadata-driven ingestion frameworks.

Implement and maintain PyDeequ data quality validations.

Perform source-to-target reconciliation and resolve data quality issues.

Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, Business Teams, and Data Governance teams.

Support CI/CD processes using Jenkins and GitHub Enterprise.

Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, and Architecture Reviews.

Required Skills

8+ years of Data Modeling / Data Engineering experience

Strong expertise in:

Third Normal Form (3NF)

Preferred Experience

Capital One environment experience is a plus.

Experience with Exchange Catalog or Enterprise Data Catalogs.

Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
