Field Service Engineer

Based Leicestershire, is a world leader in drilling technology for cooling holes in jet engines and gas turbines. The company designs and manufactures advanced machine systems in-house, serving customers across the UK and internationally. They're looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you'll be the technical backbone keeping their customers' equipment running smoothly, combining hands-on mechanical and electrical work with customer relationship management and the occasional opportunity to travel overseas.

• 60% mechanical, 40% electrical work on EDM, laser, and STEM drilling equipment used in aerospace and energy production
• Based in Leicestershire with flexible hours (8:15-17:30 Mon-Thu, 8:15-12:30 Fri) and periodic overseas travel opportunities

Preferred Requirements

• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot customer concerns and communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences
• Competence in aligning multi-axis machines to high tolerances, with the ability to read circuit diagrams
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
• Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record, as the role requires travel to customer sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Formal training or certification in preventative maintenance or field service engineering
• Experience working in a regulated environment, particularly in aerospace or manufacturing sectors
