Position Overview

Our hospital client is seeking an experienced Epic ASAP Analyst to support the implementation, optimization, maintenance, and ongoing support of the Epic Emergency Department (ASAP) application. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Epic ASAP in a hospital or health system environment and will serve as a key liaison between clinical stakeholders, operational leadership, and the IT/Clinical Applications team.

This role will work closely with Emergency Department physicians, nurses, clinicians, registration staff, and other operational stakeholders to analyze workflows, identify system opportunities, troubleshoot issues, and implement Epic solutions that improve patient care, clinical efficiency, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide functional and application support for the Epic ASAP Emergency Department module.
  • Analyze, design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic ASAP functionality.
  • Work with Emergency Department leadership and clinical users to understand workflows, requirements, and system needs.
  • Translate clinical and operational requirements into effective Epic application solutions.
  • Participate in Epic implementations, enhancements, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and system maintenance.
  • Configure and maintain ASAP application components in accordance with organizational requirements and Epic best practices.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and determine appropriate resolutions, escalating technical issues when necessary.
  • Develop and execute test scripts for new functionality, enhancements, upgrades, and integrated workflows.
  • Participate in integrated testing, system testing, user acceptance testing, and go-live activities.
  • Support workflow analysis and redesign to improve Emergency Department efficiency and patient throughput.
  • Collaborate with other Epic application teams where workflows cross application boundaries, including ADT, Ambulatory, Inpatient, Orders, ClinDoc, Prelude, Cadence, and MyChart, as applicable.
  • Assist with data validation, issue resolution, and application quality assurance.
  • Create and maintain application documentation, workflow documentation, training materials, and support procedures.
  • Provide end-user support and education to clinical and operational staff.
  • Participate in go-live and post-production support, including troubleshooting and stabilization.
  • Work with vendors, Epic, technical teams, and other application analysts to resolve complex issues.
  • Participate in an on-call or after-hours support rotation as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Epic ASAP experience in a hospital or health system environment.
  • Strong understanding of Emergency Department clinical workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting, configuring, or implementing Epic ASAP.
  • Experience with Epic application testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation and Emergency Department workflows.
  • Experience working directly with physicians, nurses, clinicians, and hospital operational stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate clinical requirements into practical application solutions.
  • Experience working in a complex healthcare IT environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active or previous Epic ASAP certification.
  • Experience with Epic implementation
