D365 F&O – Functional Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a techno-functional Dynamics 365 F&O professional to help support and optimize an enterprise ERP environment while introducing AI and workflow automation across the business.

This role sits between business operations and technology. You’ll serve as a functional expert for D365 Finance & Operations, translate business requirements into system solutions, improve workflows, and identify opportunities to use AI tools and automation to make processes more efficient.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a functional SME for Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, particularly Finance
• Support GL, AP, AR, workflows, reporting, master data, and system configuration
• Gather business and technical requirements and translate them into functional designs
• Configure and optimize D365 and connected enterprise systems
• Partner with technical teams on integrations, reporting, testing, and issue resolution
• Identify processes that can be improved through AI and workflow automation
• Build or support AI-powered workflows, prompts, and lightweight agents using tools such as Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms
• Leverage Power Platform tools to automate and improve business processes
• Lead or support requirements gathering, testing/UAT, documentation, and user adoption
• Train business users and help teams successfully adopt new processes and technology

What We’re Looking For

• 3–6+ years of Dynamics 365 F&O or comparable ERP functional experience
• Strong hands-on knowledge of D365 Finance, ideally GL, AP/AR, workflows, and reporting
• Experience with requirements gathering, functional design, configuration, and UAT
• Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and ERP workflows
• Practical experience using AI/LLM tools such as Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar
• Experience creating prompts, automated workflows, or basic AI agents
• Ability to communicate with both technical teams and business stakeholders

Nice to Have: Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, RAG/knowledge-based AI, enterprise integrations, or experience within finance, insurance, or operationally complex environments.
