Quick Overview
Job Description
We are hiring an Investment Banking Associate to bring investors into the opportunities on Pairs, and to run each investor process with a banker's discipline.
Pairs is a global network of family offices, institutional investors, VCs and angels. We screen deal flow very tightly, and the opportunities that clear our diligence go out to the network. We invest alongside them too.
THE ROLE
This role sits on the investor side of Pairs. You know how a process runs: the investor list, the first approach, the follow-up, the meeting and the next step. Here you run that process for the companies that clear our diligence.
You bring the investor relationships you built on deals, and you open new ones every month: family offices, high-net-worth individuals, angels and funds that invest directly in companies.
We are not raising a fund. Our investors invest directly in companies, so a network made up mainly of fund LPs or institutional mandates is not the right fit for this role. Our model is introductions and relationship management, not deal execution.
Our platform handles the pipeline, research and follow-up. Your time goes to investor conversations, and to judging which investors will actually commit capital.
You will work directly with the two co-founders and our investor team. The organisation is flat, so you will see first-hand how we screen opportunities, what we decline and why.
We are looking for someone who has sat on the outreach side of a deal and wants to own the relationships, not only the materials.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Investor processes. For each opportunity, the right investors approached in the right order and followed up until there is a clear answer.
Your investor relationships. The investors you bring and those you add here, kept current and qualified. They remain yours.
Investor matching. A clear understanding of what each investor looks for, so the opportunities you share are relevant.
Ongoing engagement. Staying useful to investors between opportunities, so they continue to work with us.
YOU ARE A FIT IF YOU
Have worked on live capital raises or M&A processes and run investor or buyer outreach yourself, not only built the deck and the model.
Hold investor relationships you built personally, and can explain how each one began.
Know what an investor needs to see before taking a meeting, and how to get a busy one to reply.
Hold a high bar for precision. A wrong figure in an investor email costs trust that is hard to win back.
Treat discretion as second nature. Please do not include any investor names in your application.
Use AI tools daily, with clear judgement about where they improve your work and where they would compromise its quality.
WHAT WE OFFER
A fully remote, asynchronous role
Direct access to the co-founders and our investor team
Close collaboration with our internal team
Live mandates from your first week, and access to the opportunities that clear our diligence
Insight into our internal processes, including how we screen deal flow
A base salary plus commission
