The Role

• Interpret engineering drawings, mark off materials, and prepare plate using cutting and grinding methods.
• Assemble ship structures, ensuring accurate fitting, fairing, and tack-welding of components.
• Fabricate various ship items including seats, ladders, panels, and watertight doors.
• Prepare and form materials using machine tools such as rolling, flanging, and cutting equipment.
• Adhere to strict safety, health, and environmental (SHE) principles and risk assessment requirements.

What You'll Need

• Modern Apprenticeship certificate (Trade Papers) or equivalent (SVQ3, City & Guilds).
• Up-to-date fabrication knowledge and hands-on experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Understanding and application of core manufacturing processes and tack welding standards.
• Confidence and responsibility in operating oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting equipment.
• Experience working safely in confined spaces or at height, with relevant certifications.
• Ability to follow SHE principles and risk-assessment requirements.
