About the End Client

The end client is a major utilities organisation undertaking significant transformation across their digital, operational, and data platforms. This long term program requires specialist Solution Architecture capability to define integration patterns, uplift data foundations, and guide technology decisions across high impact initiatives.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Solution Architect to work on large scale integration and data architecture initiatives. You will play a key role in shaping solution direction, defining architecture standards, and ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy.

This is a 12 month contract with strong extension potential, supporting ongoing transformation work across multiple business domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and guide application integration patterns, including API led architecture and modern integration frameworks.
• Develop API and data standards ensuring consistency, quality, and security across solution designs.
• Lead data architecture definition, including conceptual, logical, and solution level data models.
• Provide expert input into security and compliance considerations across all architecture decisions.
• Conduct solution option assessments, evaluating trade offs such as:
  • Buy vs build
  • API vs file based integration
  • Real time vs batch
  • Middleware vs point to point
• Support estimation, phasing and delivery planning for complex multi stream programs.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure architecture decisions align with strategic direction.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Strong background in application integration with proven experience in API led architecture.
• Experience defining and governing API & data standards.
• Demonstrated capability in data architecture and end to end solution design.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance and governance.
• Experience performing solution trade off analysis across multiple architecture viewpoints.
• TOGAF certification.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of Urbanise integration interfaces.
• Familiarity with common partner systems used across energy and utilities domains.
