Important:

Candidates must currently reside within the United States and be available to work remotely from anywhere in the country.
Candidate MUST have hands-on experience with ATC findings, SAP S/4HANA custom code remediation, and custom code adaptation during system conversions rather than general ABAP development alone.
Job Description:
We are seeking experienced SAP ABAP Developers with strong hands-on expertise in SAP custom code remediation, analysis, and optimization to support SAP application modernization and transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidates will have extensive experience analyzing existing custom ABAP developments, identifying compatibility issues, remediating custom code, and ensuring that custom programs comply with current SAP standards and target-system requirements.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of SAP ABAP development, custom objects, performance optimization, and the technical considerations involved in SAP ECC-to-SAP S/4HANA conversions or upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze existing SAP custom ABAP code to identify compatibility issues, obsolete functionality, performance bottlenecks, and code requiring remediation.
Perform custom code remediation to support SAP system conversions, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
Review and remediate custom programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and other Z-developed objects.
Use SAP tools such as ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), Code Inspector, and Custom Code Migration tools to assess and remediate custom code.
Analyze ATC findings and resolve syntax errors, simplification-related issues, deprecated functionality, and SAP S/4HANA compatibility concerns.
Remediate custom code involving ABAP reports, function modules, BAPIs, user exits, customer exits, BAdIs, enhancement frameworks, and other custom developments.
Optimize ABAP code for performance, maintainability, and adherence to SAP development standards.
Review custom code dependencies and assess the impact of changes on standard SAP functionality and integrated applications.
Collaborate with SAP functional consultants, technical architects, Basis teams, and migration teams to resolve technical issues.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and defect resolution for remediated custom objects.
Document code changes, remediation findings, technical specifications, and testing results.
Support code validation and deployment activities across development, quality assurance, and production environments.
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience as an SAP ABAP Developer in enterprise SAP environments.
Proven experience with SAP custom code remediation or custom code adaptation, preferably for SAP S/4HANA conversions or upgrades.
Strong knowledge of ABAP programming, debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Experience with ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), Code Inspector, and custom code analysis tools.
Knowledge of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA technical architecture and custom code compatibility requirements.
Experience working with custom ABAP objects, including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and Z programs.
Ability to analyze technical findings, identify root causes, and implement effective remediation solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
