Business Development Manager, Flat-Rolled Steel Sales
Youngstown, OH (Lordstown area, with travel)

A hunter role for a steel processing and distribution company. You'll open new OEM and fabricator accounts, win business from competitors, and grow profitable volume.

Must-Haves

  • Proven new business development with a record of opening accounts
  • Steel industry experience, ideally service center, flat-rolled, processing, or distribution
  • Knowledge of flat-rolled steel products, processing, pricing, and market dynamics
  • Experience selling to OEMs, fabricators, and manufacturers
  • An established network of purchasing and operations decision-makers
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Willing to travel

What You'll Do

  • Target and penetrate new accounts across processing, distribution, and manufacturing
  • Win business away from competitors on service, capability, and value
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through pricing negotiations and close
  • Grow existing accounts while keeping the focus on new acquisition
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and pricing
  • Keep an active pipeline and accurate forecasts
