Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced PACS Administrator / Site Coordinator to support and maintain radiology imaging systems and workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PACS/RIS administration, medical imaging integrations, troubleshooting, and coordination with clinical teams, IT, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, maintain, and support PACS and RIS environments.
- Troubleshoot PACS/RIS, imaging, workflow, and integration issues.
- Support image archiving, retrieval, distribution, and system availability.
- Monitor system performance and assist with upgrades, maintenance, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Support integration between PACS/RIS, EMR/EHR, HIS, and imaging modalities.
- Work with radiologists, technologists, clinicians, IT teams, and vendors to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and system security in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Document incidents, system changes, upgrades, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate site activities, technical issues, implementations, and vendor support.
- Assist with user training and provide ongoing technical support.
- Maintain strong communication between the clinical site, IT teams, and external vendors.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in PACS/RIS administration within a hospital or clinical environment.
- Strong knowledge of PACS, RIS, DICOM, HL7, and IHE standards.
- Experience with radiology workflows and modality integrations.
- Hands-on experience with PACS platforms such as Intelerad, Visage, or similar systems.
- Experience supporting radiology applications and imaging-related technologies.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Experience troubleshooting imaging interfaces and system integrations.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with clinical, IT, and vendor teams.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare IT security practices.
