CAD Operator/Fire Alarm Drafter

Location: Orlando, Florida (On-site)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Operator to support our design teams. This role focuses on preparing and revising drawings for fire alarm systems and other low-voltage systems. The position requires working closely with project managers and sales teams in an office-based environment to produce accurate construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise CAD drawings for fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage building systems.
• Support design teams with accurate and organized construction documentation.
• Perform calculations for fire alarm systems to ensure battery and circuit loads comply with code requirements.
• Coordinate drawings and design details based on project requirements and contract specifications.
• Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with project managers and sales teams during kickoff meetings to assign and manage projects.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Drafting experience with fire alarm or low-voltage systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FireCAD.
• Familiarity with NFPA 72 codes.
• Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, access control, nurse call, CCTV, or audiovisual systems.
