Lorien's leading banking client is looking for a UI Developer (FX Trading Platform) to join a Front Office IT team supporting electronic trading platforms across Global Markets. The role will focus on developing and enhancing Cortex FX and associated trading applications, delivering high-performance, scalable solutions for Real Time pricing and trading.
The Ideal candidate is a technically strong UI Developer with proven JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, HTML5 and Real Time application development experience.
Previous Front Office trading experience, particularly within FX or FX Options, would be highly advantageous. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment, delivering scalable, high-quality trading solutions.
This role is based in London.
This role will be Via Umbrella.
Working in a Hybrid Model of 50% a week on site.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-performance UI applications supporting Front Office FX trading platforms.
• Support platform migrations, UI convergence and modernisation initiatives.
• Develop scalable, reusable components using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS and Angular.
• Build responsive applications handling streaming Real Time market data.
• Participate in the full Agile development life cycle, including design, development, testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with developers, architects and stakeholders to establish technical best practices.
• Work with production support teams to ensure application stability, performance and successful releases.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, architectural decisions and continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior developers and promote software engineering best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive enterprise-level software development experience.
• Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS development skills.
• Experience with Angular, Web Components and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Strong experience with Real Time streaming data and RxJS.
• Experience developing scalable Single Page Applications (SPAs).
• Excellent understanding of software design patterns, clean coding and performance optimisation.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI) and automated testing.
• Strong Agile/Scrum experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience developing Real Time financial trading applications within Investment Banking.
• Front Office experience across FX, FX Options or Interest Rates products.
• Experience with Cortex or similar electronic trading platforms.
• Knowledge of Real Time messaging protocols and market data technologies.
• Experience with application performance profiling and low-latency development.
• Understanding of pricing, trade execution and booking workflows.
• Exposure to Java Back End services and .NET technologies.
