Introduction:

We are looking for a Front-End Engineer to join our team in building a browser-based 3D virtual science lab. The ideal candidate will work with React Three Fiber, AI-Assisted Development, and other cutting-edge technologies to create interactive educational experiences for students.

Responsibilities:

• Build and own complex React Three Fiber features for the virtual science lab
• Ensure the application runs smoothly on low-end hardware
• Maintain application state using Zustand
• Implement accessibility features for keyboard operation and screen-reader support
• Collaborate with 3D technical artists to integrate assets and shaders

Requirements:

• Deep, senior-level React experience
• Proficiency in Three.js and React Three Fiber
• Real-time performance optimization skills
• Experience with state management using Zustand
• Accessibility expertise including keyboard navigation and ARIA
• Proficiency in TypeScript, testing, and modern tooling

Working effectively with AI coding agents:

• Ability to decompose work into agent-sized units
• Critical review of AI output
• Knowledge of when not to use AI agents
• Comfort with the operating environment around AI agents
• Honest calibration about AI tool capabilities

Preferred Skills:

• WebGL / GLSL literacy
• Experience with glTF / GLB loading and the asset pipeline
• Prior experience in educational, assessment, scientific, or simulation software
