HR Generalist - Piperton, TN & Glenwood, AR

This position is onsite in the Distribution Center in Piperton, TN with Occasional Remote Work Opportunities. There may be some travel to Glenwood, Arkansas. 

MCR Safety is seeking a dynamic and people-focused HR Generalist to support our growing distribution and operations teams across our Piperton, Tennessee and Glenwood, Arkansas facilities. This highly visible role serves as a trusted business partner to leaders and employees, fostering a positive workplace culture while delivering exceptional Human Resources support to a workforce of more than 250 team members.

The ideal candidate is passionate about employee engagement, employee relations, coaching leaders, and driving HR initiatives that support business performance. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by partnering with operations leadership, championing employee development, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

Role Description

As an HR Generalist, you will serve as a key member of the Human Resources team, providing hands-on support across a broad range of HR functions including employee relations, performance management, investigations, talent development, HR compliance, workers’ compensation, reporting, and HRIS administration. You will partner closely with managers and employees to create a productive, engaging, and inclusive work environment while helping drive operational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusted partnerships with employees and leaders while promoting a positive, high-performance workplace culture.
  • Serve as the primary HR resource for warehouse and operations team members within the assigned locations.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations matters, performance management, corrective action, and policy interpretation.
  • Support disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, and employee separations in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Partner with managers to identify, address, and resolve workplace issues through proactive and practical HR solutions.
  • Administer and maintain employee records, HRIS data, and HR-related documentation with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding, offboarding, and engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and administer workers’ compensation activities, including communication with employees, managers, and third-party administrators.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to support retention and employee experience initiatives.
  • Assist with training and development programs, leadership development initiatives, and compliance-related training.
  • Generate HR reports, analyze workforce data, and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with operations and cross-functional teams to implement HR programs, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on employment laws, HR best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Participate in special projects and other HR initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience in a generalist or broad HR support role.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, performance management, and HR best practices.
  • Experience handling confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, conflict-resolution, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution center environments highly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work primarily in a warehouse distribution environment, with regular interaction and collaboration within office settings as business needs require.
  • Ability to walk throughout warehouse and office facilities for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move between work areas as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to travel periodically between assigned facilities and attend meetings or training events.
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment for extended periods.
