Job Description

Req: Embedded Engineer

Duration: 12-month contract-to-hire

Visa- (H1B is working towards a are fine) Positions (5 openings- Junior to Senior Level) Work Mode: Hybrid ( 3 days onsite and 2 remote ) Location: Oakbrook, IL or Tempe AZ

Role Overview & Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Create software applications and systems that meet business requirements.
  • Coding and Testing: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and test software to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with stakeholders, including project managers, designers, and QA engineers, to ensure software meets business needs.
  • Maintenance and Updates: Maintain and update existing software applications and systems.

Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Role Level: Senior Software Engineer
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Core Programming: C++ (14 / 17) experience with knowledge of threading.

  • Operating System: Proficiency with the Linux Operating System.

  • Tooling & Process:
    • Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and debugging environments.
    • Understanding of software development lifecycle processes and engineering best practices.
  • Analytical & Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts both verbally and in writing.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Frameworks & Design:
    • QT/QML experience is preferred.
    • Ability to apply design theory, methodology, and SOLID principles.
  • Tools & Workflow:
    • Proficiency with GIT and Jira is preferred.
    • Proven ability to collaborate across software, systems, validation, UX, and product teams using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Polarion to deliver customer-focused features through iterative development cycles.
  • Methodology & Environment:
    • Experience working in a SAFe Agile development environment, participating in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.

  • Domain Knowledge:
    • Prior experience in Agricultural Guidance Application Development is preferred.
    • Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in a field related to the position, as identified by department leadership.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.
    • Team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
